Among the folded materials you will find intimate headspaces with built-in soundscapes, which give you a glimpse, a thought, a hint of a space, proximity and perhaps a trajectory.
Repeated experiences from different angles and perspectives present novel views and perceptions in the drawing works and multiply in other ways in the origami works attempting to sit somewhere between flat and fold, between abstraction and understanding.
The phenomenological approach, exploring our perceptions, is resonant in the sound pieces which manifest as short pieces of text that provide verbal scores for listening in domestic spaces.
In other works, dialogue, descriptions, telephone conversations and audio recordings extend each other's field of vision and blur understanding, it is through the ongoing exploration of our own perceptions that we understand, an attempt is made to alter the ways in which these visual and audible waves resonate, through extremely brief impressions.
Originally made for an exhibition exploring the repurposing of vacant spaces called Transcolonia. The show looked at responses to unbuilt architectural ideas. This was inspired by Adrian Dunbar's Cloud Factory. Subsequently, I used the clouds with an audio piece installed at the Flatlake Festival in Monaghan.
Shown at Articule Montreal and brought to Supermarket Art Fair at Kulturhuset, Stockholm. The piece is a photocopied drawing and collage with a link to an audio piece. The idea is that the visitor to the gallery takes the link away and listens to the audio alone.
